Blue Carbon habitats provide nature-based solutions to climate change, as well as providing wider environmental and societal benefits. This Blue Carbon Action Plan outlines the steps required for these special habitats to be protected and managed appropriately. The development of the Plan has taken place in tandem with a Review of the Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Strategy. You can view the DAERA Consultation here
