This Chair’s award was awarded to University of Birmingham and Birmingham City University.
In a time when the planning sector faces both a skills shortage and a pressing need for greater diversity, two organisations have been essential in diversifying our Regional pipeline of planners - helping to ensure that the profession better reflects the communities it serves.
Our two accredited planning schools offer complementary courses, Birmingham City University is well known for attracting a diverse range of people into higher education, and their planning course reflects this. University of Birmingham have been a key provider of the Degree Apprenticeship route to entry into the profession and have attracted a broader diversity of students through this course.
